A day in Milan

sunny 30 °C

Little did we know it was the start of Milan fashion week as we wandered the streets of Milan our knapsacks on our back!
( The song "I love to go a wandering....Valderi, Valdera " must have been an inspiration to me... for you youngsters here is a link! listen here )

Actually we quickly decided to leave them in left luggage . This is Milan Central station interior, beautiful

We then visited the cathedral
and wandered the streets and shops. Perhaps this was the inspiration for Meadowhall shopping centre?
A lively bustling place where people are adventurous with their fashion choices.
I can think of some friends and relatives that would enjoy a spending spree here!

There were climate change protesters gathering to persuade the fashion industry to look and improve their practice. Some good news is Gucci are doing so

Queues of painfully thin girls formed outside the fashion houses hoping for their chance of modelling at the "auditions". Most of the men seemed wearing suits and ties, a sight we don't often see in North Nottinghamshire!

Late afternoon we caught the train to Bari. A comfortable and fast train that sped us along the East coast in comfort.

Pasta and red wine is on the menu for Italian trains!
Here is our Co2 calculation for today's journey
