Breakfast in Newark, lunch in Paris, dinner in Milan!

A long but easy day for the first leg of our journey. We left home at 6:15 and were in Milan 15 hours later. Feeling quite relaxed after 3 comfortable trains. The only less pleasing part was the queues for the Paris Metro ticket machines. The train from Paris was super fast arriving in Lyon in less than 2 hours.

We then slowed down as we crossed the Alps stopping at some very pretty villages. It would be easy to travel by train to ski .

Arrived in Milan to a moonlit and warm evening and ate our first Pizza of the holiday.

I have found a website to compare the carbon footprint of different journeys, so will share this with you. I am sure that Steve will delight you all by designing an Excel spreadsheet that will tell you how many and what age trees this is comparable to...await with bated breath! He is just working up the energy!
